Delhi University (DU) may introduce an entrance exam for Under Graduate Admissions
Aug 30, 2012
Delhi University (DU) is planning to change it's current admission process for under graduate courses. Instead of the Class XII scores which are the only factor considered for admissions into most of the Under Graduate courses at Delhi University, the authorities plan to consider scores of Class XII as well as an entrance test. This may also be followed by an Interview round.
Numerous Universities in New Delhi like Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Jamia Milia Islamia University etc. already conduct their own entrance test. Additionally, HRD Minister Kapil Sibal's "One Nation One Test" motto has made the authorities rethink about introducing a new test. They may not, after all, bring in a new exam but consider scores of one of the national level exams.
Also under the pipeline is the introduction of four-year undergraduate courses. Nothing, however, has been mentioned about the curriculum of these courses yet.
